Body Of Missing 4-Year-Old Boy At Castle Island In Boston Found: Police

The body of a 4-year-old boy who went missing on Castle Island in Boston has been found following about a day's search, according to authorities.

State Police recovered the body of Mohamed Fofana, of South Boston, on the shoreline of Spectacle Island around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 15, Massachusetts State Police report.

The location is directly across the water from Castle Island where Mohamed was last seen playing with an adult family member on Sunday night, as previously reported by Daily Voice.

A search of the waters surrounding Castle Island ensued, but crews were unable to find Mohamed and paused their search until the next morning.

The boy's body will be brought to shore and transferred to the custody of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, state police report. The investigation is ongoing.
